With food being one of the main life forces, knowledge and methods of ingredients preservation and processing are vital for survival in situations of limited resources and shifting conditions. Camp Edible is a base for arrived pioneers to experiment and learn about various creative most ancient ways to work with locally sourced ingredients such as fermentation, aging, food waste, natural aroma and dye, and more. By Bangkok based design team Salt and Pepper Design Studio and led by Chef Black of Blackitch Artisan Kitchen from Chiangmai, the project imagines concepts of human’s innate nature of migration while celebrating the creativity that comes from necessity.

Ferment and Make Friends
Learn the essence of fermentation as a technique to preserve and transform food from basic ingredients into wonderful and healthy edibles. In this workshop, you will learn to make kombucha, vegetable, pickles, sour mushroom sausages, sweetened rice and more.
First Comer First Server
Get to know your taste buds through sauces. Harvesting from Chef Black's buried pre-fermented soy sauces, vinegars, fruit alcohols, tea leaves, and insects, participants will learn about the science and culture of tastes, and design your own sauces to accompany all your festival meals with Chef Black.
Scrubbed and Scented
In this workshop, you will learn how to make soap from cooking oil, infusing it with natural essential oils and pigments from plants and floras. Design your own soap bar shapes, colors and scents to freshen up your festival stay with Salt and pepper studio.
